Message from the new Chair of the Club

Following our AGM we would like to confirm the outcomes of the votes.
Chair: Steve Havery
Hon Treasurer: Karl Morgan
I would personally like to thank both Paddy Douglas and David Thompson for their years of sterling service that they have put into those roles over the years and I am sure they will continue to guide and advise the new incumbents as they start in their new posts.
All new members to GC: welcome and we hope you all first of all, enjoy the experience and secondly get involved to make the rugby club an even better place to play socialise and visit.
Members this is your club if you have any ideas for fund raising functions or advice (because a lot of people do) please don’t be shy in letting one of your committee representatives know (in confidence if you feel it might be contentious). If we don’t know we can’t act.
There are a lot of things in the pipeline not least the huge project log the Stand/changing room development (further info to follow). Have a good summer and here’s to a successful season for All teams across the club.
I would also like to thank the outgoing president Mr Olly Grey for his outstanding contributions over the last 3 years. It has not been an easy 3 years with Covid-19 ravaging the seasons and closure of the club but your input and enthusiasm had nevertheless waned or diminished. Thank you for your service and I know you will continue to be active within the club again with your experience and wit to help guide the newer members in the running of this great club.
Now to welcome Anne Nunn as president, a first in the clubs history.
Anne has been a great servant to both The old club and the new one having been secretary, ladies committee chair, latterly events/booking secretary and has supported many people in various roles over the years. I thoroughly hope you enjoy your tenure and I know you will represent the club in the way that promotes all that is good in the club.
Steve Havery
